I am deeply passionate about wildlife conservation and the environment. I started painting wildlife paintings to raise awareness of species that are highly imperiled. I strive to portray animals more as individuals, going about their daily lives, rather than as decorative objects or cute anthropomorphic creatures. I find nature, our oceans and wildlife incredibly mysterious, with its own form of intelligence and language. I try to convey this in my work. My paintings are a celebration of the extraordinary diversity of life on earth.
I am also a writer. I have a degree in Journalism from the University of Florida, studied screenwriting in Los Angeles, and worked in the entertainment industry for 20 years. As a writer, I am always looking for the humor in all things, situations, and people. Time to Break Some Rules, Sweetie! is my first book.
I currently reside in St. Petersburg, Florida, where I grew up. I feel lucky to have the opportunity to rediscover this beautiful state with its incredible coastlines, rivers, wetlands and wildlife.
